Unfortunately, there really isn't an easy answer, despite the fact that we all want one! But good health is not as simple as popping a pill (if it was, we'd all be paragons of health, with the number of drugs we take in America these days).
It is becoming more and more clear through medical research and testing that health is a very individualized science. Even if something works for one person, it may not work for someone else - even someone with the exact same symptoms.
Why?
Because the symptoms in one person may be caused by an entirely different problem to start with. As a very simple example, a sore throat can mean anything from a cold, to a flu, to allergies, to strep throat, to simply not drinking enough water! (And unlike drugs, we take vitamins and supplements not to suppress symptoms, but to fix the underlying problem.)
As we begin to understand more about the nature of human health, it becomes clear that a much more personalized approach to medicine is called for if we are to fix our epidemic of modern diseases. Customized medicine I believe is where we are heading, and vitamins and supplements should be a vital part of that.
That's why I was excited to see that Health Talks Online is presenting an entire online summit in September specifically focusing on medicinal supplements.
