Sometimes called ice bathing or ice dipping, as with many of these "new" fads, cold plunging has actually been around for a really long time. Some cultures have been practicing it for centuries - sometimes for religious or hygienic reasons, but in many cases, for health purposes.
While some of the purported benefits sound a little far-fetched, it was interesting enough to catch my attention, and I thought for this month's free resource, I would share this upcoming webinar that discusses the potential benefits (backed by new research) of cold plunging.

The Scandinavians and Vikings cold plunged daily for hygiene purposes and for its health benefits.
In Finnish culture, cold plunging started hundreds of years ago as a way for people to clean their bodies and feel healthier. They believed it could make their blood flow better, make their immune systems stronger, and help them feel less stressed.
The Japanese also used it in ancient times as a way to purify the body and mind.
In fact, so many cultures used this 5000-year-old water immersion method, you can even find documentation of cold plunging in the Edwin Smith Papyrus, which outlined specific medical procedures and theories that were used in ancient Egypt as early as 3,500 BCE!
Today, cold plunging is thought to be effective for:
- Reducing some of the biomarkers associated with autoimmune diseases
- Slowing down tumor growth
- Clearing glucose from the bloodstream and improving insulin sensitivity
- Slowing down Chronic Kidney Disease progression by reducing inflammation
- Reducing the degree of exercise-induced muscle damage
- Improving gut microbiome balance
- And so much more!
This cold water therapy is thought to have AMAZING benefits for the entire detoxification of your body.
One study said..
